Journaling- Neuschwanstein Castle is famous for its fairytale
appearance, inspiring Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, and its stunning
location in the Bavarian Alps. Built in the 19th century by King Ludwig II of Bavaria, the castle's
romantic architectural style, dramatic setting, and association with Wagnerian opera themes contribute to its global recognition as one of the world's most picturesque castles.
About 50 years ago Jay and I walked up to this castle and I fell in love--it was so magical. Then you could take horse & carriage or walk We were able to tour the insice but nowadays you need tickets way in advance. We were able to tour King Ludwigs childhood home Hohenschwangeau that is down the mountain. This time our group took the bus up but we walked back I think is was the same road I went on 50 years ago. It was fun to go on this tour with Kris and the group along with the rest of “our people “ We loved walking around. It sure brought back memories for me. I loved being with Kristine.
