Journaling:
Dave and I joined Andy, Julie, Connor, Logan, Beckett, and Clara on a Mothers Day bike ride across the 520 floating bridge...a first for several of us! Our route took us through the University of Washington, then down to the Mountlake Cut, where we had lunch at Aqua Verde. My knee was so stiff and sore I was afraid I wouldnt make it out of the parking lot, but it loosened up as we got going. What a gorgeous day and beautiful experience. On the way out, I was able to pedal all but a 2-block section, but on the way back, I had to walk the steep hill at the end. It was an 8.5-mile excursion--way longer than Dave and I usually take on the first bike ride of a season. It was Claras first time on the Trail-a-Bike, and she did great. It was especially fun to see Frosh Pond and the fountain. The last time Dave and I saw that together, we had no children or grands.
