The Tenement Museum is a restored authentic tenement experience exploring the lives of different immigrant groups to NY in the late 1800s, early 1900s. It was fabulous, especially to any history/immigrant buffs. This building was also the inspiration for the creation of the 1926 apartments of the Goldsteins in Fantastic Beasts

I managed to get my bother, sil and two nieces there, and we all enjoyed it (although my brother and I liked it the best...we are crazy for history, architecture, immigrant culture, being the grandchildren of immigrants). I highly recommend the museum and the lower east side experience...so interesting and colorful, in an area that was outright dangerous just about 30 years ago.
