NY 04 Tenement Museum

The Tenement Museum is a restored authentic tenement experience exploring the lives of different immigrant groups to NY in the late 1800s, early 1900s. It was fabulous, especially to any history/immigrant buffs. This building was also the inspiration for the creation of the 1926 apartments of the Goldsteins in Fantastic Beasts :)

I managed to get my bother, sil and two nieces there, and we all enjoyed it (although my brother and I liked it the best...we are crazy for history, architecture, immigrant culture, being the grandchildren of immigrants). I highly recommend the museum and the lower east side experience...so interesting and colorful, in an area that was outright dangerous just about 30 years ago.
cool photos and design. love the structural aspect. (oh, my brother is a bother too. hahaha)

Amazing--would love to visit this. Fire escapes are always so intriguing--love the structure and beauty.

You went! So excited! This is one of our favorite places, except my daughter was a little taken aback the last time she went (she took out-of-town friends)--she was given the "mother" role and the guy (a stranger) who was chosen to be the "father" got a little too...shall we say...realistic. Beautiful spread bringing back many memories!

I'm so glad they saved these buildings. None of my family lived in them, but they are so important to be remembered.
