Notable Minneapolis

A few more notable photos from Minneapolis.
Things I see, things of interest -
beautiful skies
shiny lights
a theater district
The Monkees Farewell tour - I am currently listening to The Monkees Radio on Apple Radio (what a coincidence, although there are only 2 Monkees in the farewell tour)
sculpture, signage, projects honoring history
murals
time noted, time honored, time spent

I will hopefully have a blog post soon about making these "Blocked" or "Color Block" designs.
They work best with a uniform color scheme, here mostly blues with other photos desaturated.
Then layer, layer, layer, with simple lines and frames. Most of the photos simply have a stroke and drop shadow (photo too big? crop it first!)
in the background is a blended photo of a music mural in a parking lot across the street from our apartment, set to Color Burn.
The big gold "D", for Dayton's department store, is an extraction of a floor tile I've used on a couple of pages.

Love that your found Sew Biz. Your pages show your fondness for the big city, and nice use of the clocks.

Love all the photos—remember Grain Belt beer and is that the Foshay Tower?
Who do the white statues represent? Great page

I do enjoy the big city, and hardly ever go downtown to Portland, unfortunately - it's been so trashed with Covid (businesses closing down) and riot issues over the last 2 years it's not so pretty there. I too loved finding Sew Biz :)

Thanks! I have another page coming up this week that features the Foshay, which was my favorite building. The "ghost statues" are around the Depot Renaissance Hotel, renovated in the site of a former train station, and represent early 1900's travelers.

Such interesting pages with so much to look at. The busy background makes me feel that it was a trip jam packed with so much to see.

Love that you found "Sew Biz" - serendipity!
You "got" my eye with this page. Even though there was no 3rd clock, my eye wanted to find it - great way to increase tension :)
