Notes in Photoshop Elements 14
This is the thirteenth spread in my new Family Vacation album project, and a page about our first sunset. I wanted to use a lot of ModGrunge Fotoblendz, because they have designs that remind me of sun rays, so I began by double-Fotoblendzing the photos, placing the ModGrunge ones on top of the existing Hipster Plumes Fotoblendzs. I also added photos in ModGrunge Fotoblendz throughout the layout.
I had a lot of textural layers stacked up, so there was a lot of layer-masking out of bits and pieces to keep everybody's faces clear. In Elements it can be daunting to locate all the relevant layers, since there is no grouping function, so I do all of that before adding background paper and embellishments to keep the number of layers in the layers panel as manageable as possible. The other challenge here is to use everybody's photosseven people sent me their images, and, as I pick and choose, I want to make sure that everybody's photos are represented equally. This adds another level of challenge to the project.
