It was nineteen-sixty-something when Dorothy Hamill took the world by storm with her ice skating AND her adorable hair style. I knew as soon as I saw her wedge, it was for me. I had similar thick hair, and always looked best with it relatively short. For many years, any stylist could cut a wedge. But not so much the last 20 years. I was at the market a couple weeks ago, and saw a woman with a nearly perfect wedge. I asked if I could take her picture. Came to find out that her stylist is 1.5 miles from my house. So I made an appointment with Shelly, and came home happier with my hair than I have been for many years. To get the right basic shape, she had to cut it a little shorter than the end goal, but I think this is my new stylist. Shelly gets it! She doesnt call it a wedge, and barely knows who Dorothy Hamill is. But she listened to me, and she heard me. WOOT!
PS: I am normally the "Me and __________" grammar police. I had to do it this way because of the way we were facing. Since 99.9% of the world uses the phrase incorrectly, I just wanted to make the record clear for the .1% that will be offended unless they know this was an art decision! LOL
