The Renton Boeing plant is where the 737s are made! It is fun to drive past and see planes in various stages of completion. The end of the runway is Lake Washington. If you are lucky enough, you can sometimes see the new planes leave Renton, flying off over the lake. There is a walking/bicycling path that runs right next to the airport, and sometimes planes are wheeled from one side of the path to the other, and walkers/cyclists have to stop and wait! It's a hoot.
The Renton airport is where Will Rogers and Wiley Post departed for Alaska when their plane crashed (in Alaska) and they were both killed.
