I loved this hike. So simple, so similar to others we have already done in the area, yet so perfect in so many ways. It had elements of nostalgia, starting at the Main Post, scene of Mothers Day 2015 and Chers big cannon fright, grandeur, for I never, never tire of seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, and it was even the anniversary of the opening (remember when we went to the 75th anniversary of the bridge in 2012, spent the whole day walking the area, I fell asleep on the Fort Mason lawn, then we watched the fireworks with Megan & Sam?), fun, for we got to play at things like parting the trees to see the bridge, challenge, as we did the Batteries to Bluffs part of the trail and had to climb all those stairs, special moments in nature, as we spotted the two baby Great Horned owls in the y of the eucalyptus tree just as mom swooped into the nest, and, to make it good for everyone, there was food at the end.
