To create this layout, I started with the photo. I decided that I wanted it tilted just a bit, so that the figure is walking uphill in the snow. {giggle!}
I found a patterned paper I liked from CarolW Designs' fabulous new collection called A Time of Wonder. It's a very versatile collection with lots and lots of goodies!
Then I added paints and glitters from the "extras" - like the red paint with stars, the red glitter dots, the sage and ochre colored paint splotchies, the text bits, and more. The large snowflake is also part of the "extras" and I tucked it behind my photo and gave it a drop shadow for dimension.
At this point, I decided to add a frame to my photo, by right clicking on it in Photoshop, selecting Blending Options, checking the box for Stroke, and adding a 40 px stroke in a green color that complemented the sky color in the photo and the paints from the collection.
Next, I tucked another snowflake underneath the photo and affixed it in place with a snowperson flair. I added the shiny star and holiday light, and a bit of twine. Finally, I added word art as the title: "winter magic."
