November AJ Challenge Week 2 {GRATITUDE}

The Week 2 AJ Challenge has just been posted. Our word prompt for November is GRATITUDE.
Here's my layout and you know I have a story behind my page.
Remember Covid? I know you do. WAY before that, my family traveled west to the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. to see if we might possibly want to move there. Our son-in-law's family lived in the area, and he wanted to buy a parcel of land, and we would all build homes on it. We went, saw, and loved - my late husband absolutely fell in love with this area. Fast forward to Covid - we had all made the commitment to move, but we couldn't even travel back and forth to make decisions. My husband was afraid to get on an airplane, (because of Covid)- so we had to trust the family. Even though it was by long distance, thanks to modern technology, I was hands on with every decision made about our new home, down to what kind of drawer pulls would be in our kitchen. We did a lot of Facetiming and movies were made and sent to us. Our son-in-law's brother was the General Contractor for all of our homes, so we were in very close contact throughout the building process. We FINALLY moved into our home on December 26, 2020.
This is beautiful. How stressful to build a house that way. I would have been a wreck. I love how Chuck is there and the angle quote with him. Needed one then and have one now. I love how you put the front door on there too.

I am sad that Chuck didn't get to enjoy his million dollar view longer than he did! You will have to enjoy it for him! I'm so glad you have family surrounding you! I love your front door!

Thanks so much, Tracy for always supporting and loving my pages. It was stressful, but in a way, it added to the joy and love of the home that we eventually got to move into. I should do a series of layouts someday about the process we went through to get this house built from Florida and how much love and support it took to get it done. When we finally moved in, I KNEW I had had a "hand" in everything. :heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

EDITED: I have wanted a front porch for so many years and I finally got one. We loved it so much and I love decorating it for the holidays. That's why I put it in this layout.

Yes, when I was writing this up, I felt so much sadness that Chuck only got to enjoy this for a short time. He loved EVERY minute of it, though and he loved his "million dollar view" so much and now, every morning, when I raise the blinds, I "channel" him and I say "I lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help". (Psalm 121). I would love to have that stenciled over the window of my office (once "our office") because I truly say that every morning.

Yes, our help comes from the Lord!

Oh Cheryl, this is not only beautiful, but so touching. I remember when you moved into your new home and the joy it brought to y'all. I'm so very sorry Chuck didn't get to enjoy it longer. Enjoy the view, and your beautiful porch, for many years to come, and I'm sure he is right there with you in spirit. I was in tears reading though the comments, as the verse in Psalm 121 is at the top of my favorites!

Betty Jo, you were probably here when we lived in that little brick house before we could move into our new home. We didn't have wifi and Chuck and I had to get in the car every day and drive to a place that had public wifi so I could download my CT files and make my layouts. I made a layout about "my office" which was in our car. It's been such a journey of love and so much has happened over the years. I'm just thankful that he got to enjoy a few years here and I know he's still with me. :heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

I do remember about the lack of wifi, and can't imagine how you functioned during that time. Just the week we were without any connection during Helene nearly drove me nuts.
