June Review, All In a Day's Work, right side

I’ve been in quite a funk lately with several things going wrong on the little house construction, or other things in our house breaking. Not to mention the unbearable heat. We did have a nice cool spell around the 4th and got almost 5” of rain, so that was nice. Anyway, the journaling, which everyone seems to enjoy reads as follows.

Right Side: We trimmed up the large oak tree by the wellhouse. By the time I got out there to help Ron & Chris had already cut quite a few low hanging branches. All I could say was ‘Better hope y’all didn’t kill that tree’. We also pushed over the stump of the dead persimmon tree we had to cut down a couple years ago. A nice big tarantula had made herself a home below it with a plump egg sac she was protecting. So, I covered her back up with some small wood chunks. Last time I checked she was still there guarding it. The QR code is an 8 1/2 min. video of Chris & Ron finally taking down the tree by the front gate that broke in half last year and stayed stuck in the surrounding trees. It took a while and was very treacherous. The video is all the clips linked together, unedited. If you skip to the end, you can see the finale, and hear Ron say a bad word, which for some reason makes me LOL every time. Ron & Tilly, Tilly & Ron, never very far apart, especially if she thinks he might be going to town anytime soon.

The template layers were placed on each side of a 12x24 double page spread. Photos or Artsy Paper were clipped to the masks and fotoblendz. The large photos on each side were duplicated multiple times and clipped to the surrounding stains. The fotoblendz on the right side was also modified to get more coverage. Evergreen SP3 was placed below the template layers with a Hue/Sat Adj. Level. The Multimedia man was modified by removing some layers and strategically placing three extractions (bib overalls and chainsaw from the internet, and Ron’s gloved hand). The cap color was modified with a Hue/Sat Adj. Level. The butterfly, word art (with drop shadow and stroke), overlays, art strokes, stain overlays were added. The tarantula photo was duplicated twice with different blending modes. I need to go back and try to make it more visible somehow. Completed with text box journaling.

When Chris climbs up on the bucket and freehands the chainsaw! EEEEEEEKKKKKKK! What a video! Don't you love including QR codes? Really brings the story to life and certainly adds to the drama. BTW I had no idea you could do videos through Dropbox--I've been using a You Tube channel.

Yes, Dropbox was a clear choice for me. But you do have to go elsewhere to make the QR code. I found Adobe has an easy solution with an Action.

More great stories and photos! Love the orange. Kind of you to save the tarantula!
Well, thanks. They are a good spider I think. I don't feel the same about barn swallows. They are a nuisance. BTW, I checked the tarantula hole yesterday, and she was gone, as was the sac. I would have expected to see thousands of tiny tarantulas crawling everywhere, but I didn't.
