A conglomeration of photos from Nov 1, some to tell a "Y" is for "yarn" story for my Simple Digital Scrapbook Project - so, once again, threw all the photos on the page, then decide what to do with each one. Used Inglenook Bonus suggested layout 5 for the left, adding some additional element, a few extractions (extracted the green books to add to the book cluster).
On the right, I used 2 of the same 6x6 Artsy Kardz to expand to a larger rectangle, and placed the photo among the layers. I used an iPhone extraction of Oz and the giant nutcracker on top (forgot to separate and warp the drop shadow in this version).
Artsy Transfers used to place color, interest and texture in the background.
An Artsy Kard placed in the back frame, recolored green, then the transfer with the pine needles placed on top of the frame, recolored, and the needles roughly extracted.
MM Branch used to cover the bottom of the extraction which had feet cut off (or maybe the photo had the feet cut off).
Rather than strict principles of focal points and visual triangles, I went more for overall balance of colors and visual weight, with a flow of elements from the upper left, around the bottom and back up the right side. Note the visual triangle of rectangular shapes.
