Even as a small child, my son had many different career aspirations.
From around the age of 11 or 12, he wanted to become a lawyer. That's why he went to a secondary school that specialised in economics and law. Over the course of four years, his aspirations changed from lawyer to economist (and back), and in between he also wanted to be a chemist (because he liked the subject) or a physicist, because he got good grades.
After completing his compulsory military service, he began studying law and successfully passed his first-year exams. At the same time, he also studied for the numerus clausus in medicine and passed that as well.
He has been studying human medicine since the beginning of autumn.
Now he wants to become an infectious disease specialist/virologist. We will see how many twists and turns his career aspirations take.
So far, it has been a somewhat amusing journey.
