The Great Wall on our trip to China in February 2004 - the purpose of which was to adopt our daughter. We were scheduled to meet her for the first time on March 1.

The Great Wall of China on February 27, 2004. We have been in China for 1 day and everything is magical and surreal. Standing on Tiannanmen Square, standing on the Great Wall, looking at everything youve read about but never dreamt of seeing. Always thinking of your child youll meet for the first time on March 1st in another province. Looking forward to the flight, anxious about your first meeting and always thinking: Darn, its a leap year!
