This is a candid shot of the younger of my two daughters, Jocelyn. Shes wearing a little hat and scarf I crocheted for both her and Stephanie last April. I wish I had a picture of them both, but Steph was frantically getting things ready for Tristans birthday party and Joss and I just ducked into a room for a quick pick. Shes going to HANG ME BY MY FINGERNAILS when she sees this picture as we had been helping Steph and I just asked if I could quickly snap a few pics of her wearing my handiwork. She wasnt really dressed, but then I think theyre both beautiful any time of day. My grandmother Bristow taught my sister, Carolyn and I how to knit, crochet, embroider and always had some little craft for us to do when we stayed with her. Admittedly, we learned the basics of each craft, as we were so young. As a result, my skills are waaaaaayyyyy limited. The afternoons and evenings we spent with her, Ill always cherish. These were the FIRST things in many years, I made trying to remember the things she had taught me and they sure showed it! I also made a huge, funny frog for my grandson, Tristan. Only your children could appreciate the effort, as the results of my little journey into the world of crochet were less than perfect! LOL! Neither one of them seemed to notice the dropped or added stitches, that the scarves were rather long, or that the hats werent exactly a perfect fitthought they were supposed to bow out slightly at the bottom. Arent children wonderful? They seem to keep on loving us no matter our imperfections! I know I love my daughters more than words could ever encompass. So though these little accessories are kind of a testament to love, both the giving and receiving of it.
