Journaling reads: This little bird is the most precious of my entire collection. The reason for this is it was taken off a friends tree, and given to me. It was an ornament that I commented to my friend Betsey (the same girl that gave me my first ornament), that is was something I had never seen before, and wished someday I could find something similar. I loved that her tree had about a dozen of these little birds, all painted differently, and instead of hanging on a tree branch, it was perched at the end of a branch, held in place by a little stick-pin under each birds body. I protested when she handed it to me. She insisted that it was mine now, so because it came from Betsey, and it meant that her family tree was now minus one bird, it means so much more to me. Still in all my years of collecting, I have yet to come by a bird similar to this little red bird. Each year, when decorating, I take it out of its special box, and place it on one of the highest branches at the very tip. It is the only ornament that I chose not mark with a date, as it is too special to be marked, and I will always remember the special circumstances when it was received.

The Process: I began with a plain kardstock from AP Evergreen. I then added the photograph, using inverse blending, and a watercolor brush, blended on the photo. I then added the triple frame. I cuplicated the photo 3 times, adding each copy to the different frame mask. I duplicated the photo once more, and placing it on top of all the frame layers, masked all of the photo out, and then painted back in the the bird and foreground pine needles where the frame interfered with it. I then added the various transfers and brushes below the photo layers. The watercolor stars were place on blend mode divide. I added the BeadedThreadz, the Bow (from one of the MM Trees), the WordART, and the MagicSprinkles. I added the title, adding a white stroke and shadow. I added the journaling, the edge overlay, changing it to red, and was done!!!
