Journaling:
I have been struggling with my faith for a while. When you grow up, you are expected to follow in the faith of your family - Catholic tradition in this family. Problem is that after some of what I have seen in the church, I realized that I dont believe what they believe. I did not believe in treating people the way they did. When Ben was little, we simply did not go to church and it didnt seem to matter, I still taught him there was a God, there was love and sacrifice. But I miss church and want to instill in Ben a sense of my beliefs, a greater sense of God, and a sense of tradition. Its scary to think of going to a completely new place. But St. Andrews has been wonderful for Ben as a preschool and I cant imagine walking into a more welcoming place. Ive read and studied and talked to people of other faiths, and I think that this might be the place where I belong. I even love the sentiment they profess on their website, Live, Laugh, Love God. I am going to go to a service and attend pizza with the pastor. Its terribly scary for me and its scary to think what my father will feel when I tell him Im thinking of converting. I dont want him to be sad because of my choice or disappointed. But I think this is the right thing to do. And I trust that the Lord will guide me in making my choice.
