LA MORT de FANTAISIE

One by one our youthful fantasies drift away, evaporating reminiscent of a thin wisp of smoke rising in the air.only to be exchanged with the harsh realities of a maturing mind. I have a visualization of this and can see it so clearly in my mind.a child running through a meadow, aging with each step, she grows and as she does something resembling small jewels fall from her one by one, small, bright, beautiful, glowing from within, and lighter than the air itself.. the fantasies of her youth dropping.much like leaves as they fall from the trees with each new breath of the chilling Autumn air. At the end, she turns, finds them gone and mourns their loss.the fanciful thoughts that filled her days with delight and brought joy to her soul. All that remains are the memories, the last visages of a world that brought her pleasure.
Yes, I know, we all have to put away our childish thoughts, but do you remember how you felt when you found there was no Santa Claus? I do. I didnt want NOT to believe. I so much wished that the pudgy, jolly, little man, with the fat little tummy resembling a bowl full of jelly, the little elves making toys in the workshop, the magic of the reindeer flying through the sky to each and every home were true. It was such a warm, cheery fantasy. Im so glad my parents kept up the ruse for so many years, for we were all convinced that there was no way our parents could afford the wonderful gifts we each received from the jolly old elf.
I think our scrapping allows us the freedom of fantasyself expression not bound by the conventions of reality or logic. Its a gift we should all cherish.
And so this rather glum lo is a woman mourning the loss of her innocent childhood beliefs. As I wrote this, another idea came to mindthat of a child running through a meadow, as the jewels of fantasy fell from her. It would have been such a more accurate depiction of what Ive described, but sadly the words followed the layout. Maybe someday, I can do the layout I now see in my mind.

Everything from this lo was created by:
