Journaling:
We were glad we took time to study the panel. There was so much to take in even though we had been there before. Remember how people stopped, snapped a few photos and stayed for ten minutes.

Artist Statement:
First of all, I would like to say this page was a response to a PM request or I wouldn't be brave to post it here at all. When most people think of Kokopelli, they think of the stylized, sanitized version brought to popular marketing campaigns in Sedona, Santa Fe and Moab in the 1980s. All of the ones eight hundred years ago were very similar to this one. Kokopelli is the flute player, but young girls were afraid of him because he was the fertility god who brought babies. There were several on the wall at Sand Island.
I am getting a most beautiful education about your travel facts. So tastefully done!!

I've always been fascinated by petroglyphs. When I was teaching the gifted program I did a unit on Cities of Sand and had the kids write their own stories using petroglyphs. It was one of my favorite units to teach. Beautiful page!

I love the abstract page and the great picture-painting, I love also the colors, its beautiful!

Wow! Interesting! I thought he was just a guy with a flute. (Great spread, by the way, especially that little glyph stamp.)

glad you posted it DK. Love that you created this page on the gray background - which compliments the photos and elements. Love your black and gray transfer choice as a background for the photo. Also love your cluster along with the image, the arrowhead, and the raffia. Fabulous layout!!!
