My daughter had a good time at Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site a couple of week ago. TFL!
Journaling:
Ever since I was a kid volunteer at
Bent's Fort and a seasonal ranger there during college, I've looked forward to introducing my kids to the fun of this reconstructed 1840s fur trading post on the Santa Fe Trail. This year, Emmelia was finally old enough to participate in Kids Quarters. My friend and fellow volunteer from the past, Kimberly, sent some authentic clothes for her to wear and Emmelia spent a hot morning in July learning about the role of naturalists at the Fort in the 1840s. Since she loves science, this was right up her alley, although she says that next year she would like to be a domestic.
