He was a rare, one of a kind man that made the world more interesting. He took over a dying iconic fashion house against the advice of many and brought Chanel out of mothballs and back into the powerhouse of fashion it once was. He didnt think Coco would have liked what he did, but he was a man of his times and made it modern once again. His haute couture fashion extravaganzas were a feast for the eyes, which also made him a showman and at times controversial. Karl was talked about. He was tireless, not only did he head Chanel, but also Fendi and lesser known, an architect. A Renaissance Man.
He embraced technology and used it to the fullest, but he drew out his designs on paper, a rarity now. A fastidious man that didnt party and burn out like so many of his fellow peers, because the work gave him the high. His closest assistance were with him for 35 years and that says a lot about the man himself. One of them heads the House of Chanel now. I wish her well, she has big shoes to fill. When you hear the name Chanel, you picture Karl Lagerfeld. Inseparable.

Notes: Using solid paper 1, I brought in the photo which I had given a pop art treatment, and duplicated it 3 times, resized and arranged them on the page. I clipped a Color Fill layer to each of the copies, blended and reduced the opacity.
I typed his name recoloring parts to make it legible and these are placed above the photo group. Below I added the artsy paint and the large letters of his first and last. I reversed the K to mimic the Chanel logo he designed. The rest of the layers of large type is also below the photo layers.
The journaling was arranged above the photo group. That finished the page.
