Just Like Her
This is a photo of my beloved Grandmother. She was an extraordinary woman.
Journal reads:
Just like Her
I want to be just like her. Yes, just like my Grandmother.
"She was the nicest person I ever knew". It has been 35 years that she has been gone, yet, when I go to visit the small community that I am from, when I meet someone that knew her, I always hear that phrase. I love that she is remembered that way.
She was my mother's mother.
She spoke only Cajun French for most of her life, learning very little English through her grandchildren. We still reminisce about her broken English phrases.
Her children always spoke of how she made their lives rich, despite the hardships.
I wish that my husband and children could have known her.
I hope that some day, I will be remembered by many as "the nicest person I ever knew".
