Text: It was a sign. I cant count the number of books Ive read that feature elegant women smoking Gauloises, gesturing with them in perfectly manicured fingers to draw emphasis to their perfectly phrased witticisms. Gauloises literally means "Gaul women" after all, and that they were sold right across the street from our little pied--terre in Paris seemed like a sign that we were in for a visit that would be thoroughly French. Neither of us smoke cigarettes, but between the World Wars the smoking of Gauloises in France was considered patriotic and an affiliation with French 'heartland' values. I knew right then that our days in Paris would be magical.
Photoshop Elements 14
Heading into the home stretch of the photobook documenting our spring trip to Europe--the Paris section covers four days, but then I'm done.
I started with Artsy Paper #4, then added the Fotoblendz. I clipped my photo to it and one of the stains, masking away stray bits with layer masks. I wrote the story, then recolored another stain (using a transfer from the Artplay Palette to get more glitter). I needed to get some teal in the layout to coordinate with my photo, so I used a stain overlay from the Artplay Palette and a teal fill layer on color dodge mode to make that happen. I finished by adding a multimedia leaf element to augment the pussy willow branches that were in my photo, and scattering around additional transfers and overlays on different blend modes
