Journaling reads:
the details... Here we have Joshua, Michael, and Dad, deeply engrossed in a project... book open to intrahepatic cholestasis... I think. It's maybe not the most fun way to spend time together, but it meant Josh didn't have to miss our visit. I couldn't help but take a picture of the 3 doctors... a MD, a near-MD, and a near-PhD. It's a cluttered picture, but that's just fine. I often say that this family doesn't do anything small. In keeping, the frames on that back wall chronicle events that feel enormous... the incredible addition of seven brothers and sisters through adoption... the still-raw loss of beloved Heidi in an accident... the long-awaited children finally born (plus many memories of babies gone too early to be photographed)... cousins, uncles, grandparents... all big stories told in the frames. Mom added her reminder to "Delight." Not every day feels delightful - no, not even when investigating the etiology of a liver condition. But this family has its share of reasons to remember... We are ever so grateful to be together... any time.
