Journaling: Jordan was just a newborn, and I was now home with five children. I felt very blessed, indeed, but at times a little overwhelmed with all of the household tasks at hand.
One evening, Michael, who was always neat and particular about his school uniform, said, Mommy, I need my shirt and pants washed for school. He was 12 at the time. In an exasperated moment, not at him, I said, Here, Honey, let me show you how to do it. I thus showed him how to sort his clothes and operate the washer and dryer.
Except for an occasional time, I never washed his laundry again. And, once each child turned 12, that was the moment he/she took over his/her laundry. It was a lesson well learned. By me.
