Just a few process notes. I failed to provide them when I initially posted:
The original background for the focal photo (from the horizon up) was a boring white/blue featureless sky. I removed it, added a Jopke designs fallbulous photomask, colored it, added a slight bevel to give it almost a wood carving feel and voila!...deep dark forrest.
Also I wanted the fishing pole to sorta extend from the page but couldn't really extract it or manipulate it in any way as it wasn't part of the original photo. I had to improvise (it's okay I'm a part time jazz musician)!! I cropped a portion of one of Anna's artstrokes. added an outline to give it the right thickness, saved it, added color and bevel to turn it from a line to a pole , placed it in the photo and added a drop shadow.

A great page. Love your solution for the fishing pole and how you used those fish stickers.
