I'm not a writer by any means...journalling reads:

Ill Never Forget

Ill never forget growing up you were always there.
You taught me how to wash dishes, cook, and can food.
You showed me how to plant a garden, string beans, and silk corn.
Ill never forget how you loved your dogs, cats, boxwoods, and your yard.

Ill never forget how you took care of me when I was sick, fed me
chicken noodle soup, and saved me from snakes. Ill never forget how you would put snuff on my bee stings and how I always gagged. Or how you went on about how Porters Salve healed all cuts and scrapes.

Ill never forget spending the night with you. How we played solitaire and watched the news and game shows till we went to bed. Ill never forget the bedtime story you told of the bear and the little boy. How he was lost and alone and found comfort, food and shelter from a little old man till they could find his parents.

Ill never forget watching General Hospital with you. How you thought it was real and how you would get upset when I would try to make you understand that it wasnt.

Ill never forget watching you take care of Sam.

Ill never forget Christmas with you and how you always wanted us to sing Silent Night. Christmas dinner was always the same we had green beans, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, biscuits, chicken & dumplings, mac & cheese, your very unique sweet potatoes, the list goes on and on.. Oh how you could cook. Ill never forget how you gave each child money as a gift and we better put it up and save it too.

Ill never forget the big snow or how you worried till we were all home safely each night and how you fixed a place for us all to stay with you and made sure we were all warm and fed.

Ill never forget when I drove you places how you tapped your fingernail against the window pointing at trees, bushes, and the river. How tired you would get when we were out for a long time and how you would comment it feels good to be home.

Ill never forget how excited you were for people to come visit you, but you were ready for them to leave soon there after.

Ill never forget how excited you were when you found out that you were going to have great-grandchildren. How you loved them with all your heart. Ill never forget how you held them in your arms and talked of how you looked to them thru her eyes. How you cared for them as you cared for me. How you played store with them and loved to feed them.

Ill never forget how as time went by your eyes began to give you trouble and then your back. You, however never faltered. You continued on. We couldn't stop you from mowing the yard, working in the garden, and canning your fruits and vegetables because we knew you needed to rest. Ill never forget how you started using a cane and how difficult it became for you to get around, yet you continued on. Ill never forget how with all your pain, you still could out-walk us.

Ill never forget how you were with me thru every major change in my life.

Ill never forget every Mothers Day how you were everyones focus. How you would fuss about getting all the attention.

Ill never forget as you lay in the hospital bed how you wanted to look out the window at the snow and wanted water to drink. Ill never forget your last words to me, I love you too. Ill never forget holding your hand, singing you songs, and then feeling you take your last breath.

Ill never forget how you would ask me Will you forget me when Im gone?

Granny, Ill never forget you.
This is the sweetest journaling. My husband just lost his grandmother this two weeks ago and this brought back a lot of memories about her too. Thanks!
