i spy by the seaside

i still like to look at the i spy books :)

here's the rhyme (updated to fix typos)...
I spy a dad, a young boy, and a little girl whose hands are folded and knuckles curled. Theres the spray of the ocean on a hot summer day. A mermaid asleep way, way down where its deep. On careful inspection theres a swimsuit with stripes and three green fish with spots but no spikes. Theres a crab and a fishing pole ready to bait, three rare, pink pearls, and a button of blue slate. Buried deep in the sand four starfish play, one with pearls and one faded away. I spy a shimmery boat with sails unfurled, one smile, one grimace, the words happy, sun, and sea. I see bits of memory left at the shore. Tiny treasures all found, I search no more.

process...
I opened a solid from AP Palette Swell, then dragged all the layers of ArtsyTransfer Swell number 1 onto the solid. The photo was clipped to the main paint layer of the transfer. I added a lot of the shell sprinklez layers. When those were in place, the other little items were added. This was a good way to distract for the repetition of the shell layers. Once all the little treasures were in place, I decided it was too much to look at, so I shrunk the whole thing down and added additional brush work on the sides of the ArtsyTransfer group to frame it. The title and rhyme were added at the end.

Thanks for looking :)
Definitely makes me smile. Everything about it. Love the photo, almost like a recent selfie.

Fun! I think I own every I Spy book. The grandkids loved finding things in them. Very creative and enjoyed looking for the items!

Love your I Spy Rhyme and this fabulous page so full of ocean goodness and wonderful blending!!

Delightful take on "I Spy." I like how the subjects are rising out of the treasures, too. The facials are particularly interesting within the context.

fun and fabulous at the same time! adore your collection of goodies. my family was also big fans of the I Spy books.
