I Need a Dream Break

Journaling: (I'm sorry if this is such a downer! I haven't given up, by any means, just needed to vent a bit.)

I find myself in need of a break. This month has been overwhelming. First, Hurricane Helene unleashed devastation in my state, claiming many lives and displacing countless others. Following that, Hurricane Milton struck my home state, where I have family and friends. The 14th of October was the anniversary of my dear husband's passing, a loss I feel profoundly every day. Now my eldest son is currently in the hospital having just had hip replacement surgery. A dream vacation would be wonderful about now. (I forgot to add, I just spent a week on a walker due to a problem with one of my knees, so I haven’t been able to go up and down the stairs of my third-floor walk up apartment! And there is more, but too personal to other family members for me to share publicly.)

Oh, Betty Jo! My heart aches for you! You have been through so much devastation and loss! I will be praying for you.

I'm sorry that you're going through a difficult time at the moment. Sometimes it's hard to cope with the challenges that life presents to you. Then we can let ourselves go and just feel bad. Everyone deals with times like this differently. I hope you find ways and means to draw hope and confidence from this. I wish you the strength to do so. Look at what else is beautiful and good in your life. I'm sure there's more than you think! All the best! :heartpumppink:

Thank you kindly. I'm normally not one to let go. I definitely haven't given up, just needed to vent, as I haven't had a month like this in ages and ages. Prayers, and my faith, will keep me moving forward. And, I've found scrapping to be very therapeutic. ♥

Thanks for sharing - venting is a good thing! Sorry have gone and are going through this! I love the painting you are sitting in front of! love the flow of the design across the page! gorgeous page!

Thank you for sharing from the heart. :heartpumppink: Your journaling is so heartfelt and your layout is beautiful. I love how digital scrapping allows us the ability to vent and create. Praying you get a break soon and the second half of October is a little easier.

Thank you so much, Tracy. It only just occurred to me with your comment that this month is only half over!! It seems like it has already been a year, or more, long.

@Betty Jo, I don't know you personally, but can identify with these struggles. We had our family trip in W. N.C. (Cherokee) last week. We saw some of the damage, and a former student of mine lost part of his business in Asheville. Last week was the 3rd month 'anniversary' of my Dad's passing. We had news I can't share regarding a grandchild, and our struggle with the V.A. continues even after being told by the Director himself that the case was closed a month ago and should have been dispersed. We've been waiting for that to make the move we have dreamed of. I encourage you to continue to hold out (as you have been) for your dreams, and know that this season always changes.Your beautiful photo is what drew me in. I too like to make a page when things are just over the top. Hugs and a prayer.

Amanda, thank you so very much for your encouragement, prayers, and sharing your story with me. I'm so very sorry for the loss of your father. Also, the other struggles you're having. My husband and I used to live in Cherokee. He was the assistant manager of the Pizza Inn, owned by childhood friends of mine. I actually made this page so I would never forget all that has happened this month, dates, etc. Someday, my grands will appreciate the history. ♥
