Humble Home

JOURNALING SAYS:
We bought our first house in September 2001. It was a buyers market at the time and we got the house for a fantastic price. It may not look like much and it may be in a constant state of renovation, since it is a fixer-upper, but it is home. It is the only home our daughter has ever known and she loves it here. Because we are always renovating there is usually an area or two in the house where she can go a little crazy when she plays since it is already messy or it will soon be replaced. We have a big backyard, especially considering that we live downtown, and our yard backs onto a sports field and playground. You often here the advice when buying property: location, location, location. Well, we couldnt ask for a better location. We are within walking or biking distance of everything. I try to always look at the positive. I am living indoors and eating when so many people around the world are not. I have a wonderful family who loves me. And because we bought a house well within our means, we sleep peacefully knowing that we are not heavily in debt. Sure, there are times when I wish I lived in a bigger, newer, more beautiful house but it is the love that makes a home, not the bricks.

Great page! I think your house looks really cozy and it sounds perfect from your journaling. :)

What a great layout! I love how you've fit in all the journaling and highlighted it - but also balanced the layout with the photos and the layering ... very nice!
