Process...
I started with a solid from the new APP Frolic collection and changed the color to brown. Added the paper doll, then built up the tree cluster using parts of all the of the MM Holiday files plus some of the elements from APP Frolic. I added the glows behind the image along with the Christmas script tease brushes. To finish, I added the paper texture at the bottom to ground the image and hide her half missing shoe, and added the journaling, post card, and word strip on the right.
Love the darling old time-y paper doll dressed for the holiday. The dark paper is the perfect foil both for her and for the dibs and dabs of merriment.
This has just a touch of an Edward Gorey vibe...I keep thinking of "W is for Winnie, embedded in ice." I think it's the Fa-la-la with the facial expression. Nonetheless, it's darn gorgeous and I love the central focus against the dark background.
Thank you, Fiona. So pleased to know that you display my postcard from a few years back. This will hopefully be turned into a postcard. I just haven't had the motivation or energy in the last few years to get them printed.
