Definitely one of my top 3 layouts I've ever done. So happy with it!
Note To The Viewer:
HMS Mary Rose was Henry VIII's flagship.
She was sunk in 1545 while trying to turn to avoid the French cannons, but her own cannon ports were left open and it took on water..
and blub, blub, blub...down she went right in front of Henry, who was watching from the shore.
She's been on the bottom of the harbour until she was raised for restoration in 1982.
Due to her condition she is kept in dry-dock like the HMS Victory, but the Mary Rose is kept in a tent of sorts and away from the harsh sunlight.
I'm fascinated by the local history, as well as all British history -- but nothing is better than the naval life here.
