Hickey Chronicles

Almost a cautionary tale about treasured bed fellows. Life's been very tense in my household as a result of this problem! Talk about sweating the small stuff.....LOL!

Opps, journalling is unreadable, so for anyone who can actually be bothered to read this, it says:

Poor Ginny Hickey, 7 yrs of Percy Rd, Shepherds Bush, almost suffered a most terrible loss this week. It all started at bedtime on Sunday 19th Oct 2008 when she couldnt find Pooh Bear, her must have sleeping companion. After much searching she was eventually packed off to bed without him and had to suffered an entire night alone (well, apart from the hundreds of other teddies she owns).

Ginny claimed that shed thrown Pooh Bear on top of the fridge to keep him away from the dogs but he was clearly no longer there.

That evening, her parents searched in vain until the horrific realisation came to them: what if the dogs had buried him in the garden, or worse still, chewed him up! They were horrified by this possibility and even though it was pitch black outside, they felt duty bound to hunt around in the garden, which, it must be remembered is rammed full of excess furniture the Hickeys can not fit in their house and which almost fills the entire space. The following morning found the mother desperately turning the house upside down in vain. She was even caught digging through the garden with a serving spoon. And so poor Ginny once more had to face another night without her beloved Pooh Bear.

Luckily for her, when her Daddy returned from work that evening, he poured himself his usual gin & tonic and whilst reaching into the freezer for the gin, what should he see, but a rather frozen teddy bear! Now who would have thought to look there! Ginny, of course was overjoyed and extremely thankful, and the dogs were exonerated of all blame.

Perhaps now Ginny will keep Pooh Bear in her room as instructed.
