A juvenile heron lands on a narrow peninsula on the lake.

Journaling:
On Wednesday, our last day, we added a heron to our sightings and noticed that the bison and deer were not near the road, which underlines the variability of each visit. We were headed home, and glad to have another hour to enjoy being out on the wide prairie ssurrounded by city..

Your outing on the prairie sounds wonderful. The juvenile heron sighting was sure a fun bonus and a great capture! Wonderful pages and journaling. I love the ripped lace and threadz on the frame.

Those bits of pink are yummy and the stitched lace reminds me of fishing net! Beautiful documentation of your heron sighting!

Great photos! Love the background color combination. I've tried to photograph the occasional heron that stops at our pond. Even with a telephoto lens, they spook to easily.

Just returned from San Francisco (daughter's wedding festivities!) and on one of our birding expeditions afterward along the coastline, in the grasslands, we turned a corner and...there in the ice plants...was the biggest Great Blue I have ever seen. It was like being directed by the cosmos to being in the exact right place at the exact right time. We had our binocs---I still swoon to think about this experience. Always love your work, especially your nature pages.
