What a stunning photo of you with your hubby and daughter! You look great! Love the outfit. The cluster and background are so pretty. I like the way you ran some of the text overlay over the background of the photo and then behind the three of you. Is that an extraction then layered back in place on the photo? Brilliant.

Hi Celestine. Thank you for the nice comments! To get the text overlay on the buildings, I just placed a text overlay on top of the photo and masked out the parts that fell on top of us. The photo itself is clipped to a mask with a blending mode. The photo had a bright blue sky which was pretty, but it didn't go with the color palette so the whole goal was to get rid of the sky and artsy up the buildings. I also masked out the overlay that fell over the windows in the building behind us.

Thanks for the reply! When you say "masked out" do you mean that you erased portions? Sorry - I am only a little familiar with most of the PS and PSE maneuvers. Anyway, it is amazing how much you doctored from the blue sky - it was a good choice. So much done, yet the LO looks so flawless and natural.

Good morning Celestine. Yes- you are correct. It’s like erasing but it’s non destructive when done with a mask. I tried to attach the original photo here but it doesn’t look like I can. I’ll message you the original so you can see.
