Hand-knit Christmas

Hand-knit Christmas

Every year everybody gets a hand-knit Christmas present from me, sometimes more than one. This is my first year doing mitts—since I'm shooting at the moon in terms of sizing, I thought this pattern, with the cuffs at both ends, would be a forgiving fit.

To make this layout, I started with Artsy Paper #2, layering Evergreen Fotoblendz #2 over it then adding my photo. I dressed up the background with two of the Multimedia Elements in the collection plus an Artsy Transfer, then added the title, ribbon and twig embellishments, and my journaling.

Those are beautiful mittens that you knitted. I love how they really are the star of the page, and ground all the elements and the journaling together (perfectly reflective of the journaling!)

when i see your knitted products (especially for ellioth), i would love to join the ranks of the recipients.
what lovely, so personal gifts.
i hope every recipient appreciates your work.

Love the green paper. And beautiful job on the mittens and the layout. I like the way you surrounded the mittens.

Thanks so much! I realize I knit more for the joy of the process of doing it (including experimenting with yarns) than for the actual finished product. So I am always happy to finish a project and gift it, and then that is that and if the recipient loves it, that's great, and if not, I just keep knitting. I'm happy to say most recipients are really happy with their gifts, especially now that I'm not such a clunky knitter!

For you, the journey seems to be the destination. I hear this sentence (unfortunately far too often) from my yoga teacher.
Great attitude, I'm cutting myself a piece of it.

Your gloves are awesome, and this page is fantastic!! Congratulations, your layout will be featured in tonight's Monday Oscraps newsletter :lovey3:
