I adore carousels. While visiting my mom in Alabama, I was excited to see one while shopping in the mall. Of course I had to take some photos. I loved this horse because his design reminded me of the old time horses from the early 1900s.

The Process: I saw Annas background paper with the dark background from her new ArtPlay Palette Traveler Kit, and really wanted to used it. I dont often use dark backgrounds, but I loved the highly textured white area of the paper. I applied a mask to the photo, just allowing the head to be shown. I then applied the blend mode overlay, copied the photo and applied the blend mode vivid light to that photo, adjusting the opacity until I was happy with it. I love texture, so I added the damask patterned paper was the same kit, applied the blend mode hard mix, reduced its opacity, and masked out all but what was in the center. I added another paper with a grid pattern, turned it 45 degrees, applied a blend mode, and masked out all except the center area. I then added the elements to the lower right corner. The text was added on a slant, one word per line, and for the title, I created a path in the same curve as the LoopDaLoop. To add more texture, I added some brushwork in the lower left, and a ScriptTease Overlay.
