Process:
I prefer to do layouts featuring people so landscapes and still life pages are always a challenge for me. In this case, I had three photos I wanted to use from our recent Alaska trip, so my first task was fitting them on the page. I wanted the bottom of the page to reflect the fact that glaciers go quite a ways under the water line--in this case, 100 feet--so that directed the design.

In preparation for the upcoming aA Classics REPLaAYChallenge (check the Designer Challenges Forum on Thursday!), I dug out a set of ArtsyKards for the background from my stash.

I made a clipping mask for the larger photo by stamping brushes all over it, each on a new layer, merging all the brush layers, moving the merged layer below the photo, and then clipping the photo to it. The other photos went into frames, with duplicates of the photos clipped to watercolor FotoBlendz for a little extra color.

For the iceberg photo, I converted the background to b/w to highlight that Windex-blue of the iceberg.

For the background, I pulled in various layers of all the ArtsyKardz. I blended the transfer and paint layers on multiply for color and texture and used the scrawly spatters as is. I did the journaling and embellishments and added the branch last. It was pure serendipity that the dots on the MultiMedia Element complemented the dots on the ArtsyKardz.
Incredible--love how all your layering worked so beautifully. This really conveys the gorgeous light and the glow of the glaciers. The fact that the dots worked so well--nothing short of amazing! It is like being there again!

Love the mood of this page! Beautiful scenery! You captured the depth of the glacier!
