To give the scene a little bit of an "otherworldly" glow, I duplicated the background paper and set the blending mode to Soft Light.
To create the bouquet in the milk pail, I made a cluster of several flower branches. I used layer masks on each layer to erase sections of the branches and leaves so it would look like they were intertwined. After merging those layers, I erased the stems that were hanging in front of the pail.
