Sometimes when you buy a kit you get an element you know that never, ever in a million years will you use it. The color, shape or subject just doesn't match your taste or style? So you reluctantly add it to your stash thinking maybe you'll find a use for it someday?! Does this happen to you? It does to me. Well, my "someday" is here. I reluctantly added the funny beer guy from the Downtown palette; of course, KNOWING that I would not use him. Yet while I was playing with a layout about a brewery tour, he suddenly seemed the ideal addition. It's almost as if he wanted to be there toasting to all of us. (Yes, I've always been imaginative. But all creatives are, aren't they?) So now, I guess I'll look at ALL my elements as potential design stars. And, yes, the beer was extra tasty.
