Frustration in the Moment

Sunday, Nov. 4 to Thursday Nov. 15, 2018
There wasnt room here to include the journaling, but suffice it to say, its about my frustration with the person I hired to fix my fence. Dealing with no shows and no courtesy calls informing of such. He finally got the job done, but not without frustration and anger on my part.

Notes: Opening a new 12x12 file and with the Polygonal Lasso Tool I created a triangle mask starting in the upper right corner drawing a straight line to the bottom left corner of page, then continuing straight to the right bottom corner and back up to the start, closing the triangle. I filled it with grey. Bringing in the photo of my damaged fence, enlarging it to a full page and clipping it to the triangle.

Two transfers from the kit were placed at the top of the page and the same photo duplicated and clipped to each transfer. The watercolor mask was placed over the main photo and the photo of the fixed fence was clipped to that, which created a before and after composite of the fence blended together. All the layers have blend modes.

Over these layers I typed out the word frustration and lined it up with the triangle mask. I clipped another copy of the main photo to it and gave the type layer a bevel and emboss and blended. I gave the word art a stroke action then pasted in the journaling, lining it up with the fence boards in the photo.

From there I added the overlay below the triangle mask added the word art transfer at the top and various brushes from the kit and listed above. I placed the leaf under the title word and finished with the button and thread. I am so grateful my fence is fixed and I can move on and he did do a wonderful job of it.
Once you find somebody that's good and reliable, hang on to them for dear life. They are scarce here too. I love the strong lines from the fence leading the eye, and the color reinforcing that movement.

Very frustrating when you hire someone to do the work and they don't come through. In my case, I can't fire the contractor, it's usually my husband! Love the fence lines and title placement! Fabulous!

I love how youve taken your frustration to your canvas and created a great piece that shows your feelings and the fence story. Finding good help is so difficult, anywhere. Thankful your fence has been fixed, hopefully to your satisfaction. Now I want to try a couple of your techniques.

Your art certainly expresses your frustration. It's filled with amazing angst. And I emphasize with youit took almost six months to get my door correctly fixed after my robbery. Grrr.

That's the worst...the basic lack of courtesy. As you say, you prevail eventually...but it sure takes a lot of effort. With all the angles, this is a good angst-y layout to express the feelings of frustration.

love this page! it is terrible when they don't call! glad you eventually got it completed and love that inspired this art!

Love this graphic representation of your frustration! We should get together and vent... We've had electrical work going on for weeks and the contractor is driving me crazy with all the things he does and doesn't do!!
