Five Mile Point Lighthouse

Journaling reads: Five Mile Point Lighthouse, New Haven, Connecticut Its name came from the fact that it is located 5 miles from downtown New Haven. Built in 1847 from East Haven limestone - it stands 65 feet tall, and replaced the original 30 foot tall wood lighthouse built in 1835. In 1872 the small jetty lighthouse (seen on the horizon) was built, and the Five Mile Point Lighthouse was no longer used. Today it is a city park.

Emboss It 18 http://www.oscraps.com/shop/product.php?productid=28495&page=3

The Process: I began with an Artsy Paper from the new AP Getaway. I blended in the photo in 4 layers, each to best highlight the different areas of the photo, using different blend modes of Color Burn, Hard Light, and Darker Color. I used a watercolor brush to paint in the photo. Under the photo I added a few of the transfers from AP Getaway, also using a variety of blend modes, and decreasing their opacities. I added the elements, WordART and journaling, and added the scratched overlays, using the blend mode divide, and the Layered Edge Overlay, changing its color to the soft beige. I finished up by added an embossed overlay, bringing down its opacity, to soften the embossing.

***thanks for looking***
Wow, the photo blending and added textures gives the page such added interest and depth. I love light hoses and this one is so East Coast.
