Process:
I look at ArtsyTemplates from a 360-degree perspective, and if a particular template works for my design idea, I have no problem with rotating it to better fit my photos. With this template, I rotated the template so that the masks would be vertical, then swapped out one rectangular frame for a square one from another template. Once done with that, I clipped my photos to the mask and to a paint layer on the left. On the right, I dragged in a Fotoblendz and then clipped the picture of the decorated tree and my son and new wife to it. The colors were so weird that I desaturated my son and his wife and used light leaks on various settings to get the decorated tree to fit in with the rest of the page. From there I did the journaling and the title, and put in the garland and the pine foliage, using only the shadow from a MultiMediaBranch on the left to complement the desaturated photo on the right. I tried clipping some foliage to stains on the bottom but wound up removing everything so I could have some restful white space. The last touches were tiny--a single blue button at the top to pick up the blue in some of the photos, and a few stars customized with Fotoglows to string in the garland http://annaaspnesdesigns.com/tutorial-customize-an-element-with-fotoglows/
Such a cute couple...sounds like tree chopping was just the thing to propel Pete into the holidays! Love the fa la la repeated!

The string of 'fa la la' is a great touch and love how you 'warmed up' the Christmas tree corner.

Bless them! My experiences of Christmas tree buying stress over 40 years resulted in deciding to buy an artificial one 5 years ago but I believe the whole experience is character building and every couple has to give it at least 30 years before caving in... :) Also impressed about the chopping...in the UK where we live this isn't available so we just have to buy trees that have probably been chopped down in October and promptly shed all needles either before or just after 25th December resulting in more marital strife :( so tell your son he is truly blessed as an American hunter gatherer chopping down his own xmas tree! X

A great story! I miss doing this yearly search for the perfect tree! A great start for the first married Christmas!! Wonderful page!

Wonderful blending and love how you fill a page with happiness!
Great use of the beads!
