First Day of High School

With scrapbook pages at least, I'm all about the matchie-matchie; I like to have facing pages in an album match. When I first started paper scrapping, many, many (oh so many!) years ago, I was less concerned with things like that. (It is safe to say that I was less concerned with other things, too, like page design, color coordination, element placement; I could go on, but I digress...) I quickly adopted a matchie-matchie outlook after making a scrapbook where the left page was an over-the-top bright, colorful page of my brother-in-law's raucous birthday party, and the right page was a soft and muted page of my niece's christening. (Shudder!) Let us never speak of that again.

All of that brings me to this page, a companion page to one I posted a couple of days ago. https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=233807&title=goinggoinggone-&cat=all After making that page, I emailed my brother-in-law and asked if he had any more photos of my niece on her first day of high school so that I could make a matching page. Accommodating guy that he is, he sent me ~50 photos! I'm surprised the poor girl wasn't late for her first class on her first day! :)

This is a stunning spread Shirley, love all the brushwork! With 50 photographs you could do a whole book based on your niece's first day! :)

I'm still laughing about the 50 photos your BIL sent you :) Well, you picked just the right one. A very pretty spread and must make you sentimental about your lovely niece growing up so fast. I go through the album spread matchie thing all the time. I have so many pages waiting for a companion page. Sometimes I'll just make a title/design page for the left side (a cop out, but works for me).

Well Shirley... you certainly have mastered the matchie matchie thingy... Your niece is so lucky to have your talent shining down on her... these are real treasures...
