October 10 would have been my dads 87th birthday, and so this being on my mind, I choose a sepia-toned photo of my dad in the army, would have been about 1945 or so. And while the Paris theme might seem unrelated, the night before he passed, I had a dream that I was trying to get him to Italy to see the country of his ancestors, but I could not find him. He would have loved Italy, he would have loved to see Paris.
The journaling is from the prayer card we had at his funeral.
God saw you were getting tired,
And a cure was not to be,
So He put His arms around you,
And whispered Come to Me.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away,
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
