Whenever anyone would ask what Sadie wanted for Christmas, she answered unequivocally, each time, A kitty. She was missing Jinx, who had wandered away earlier in the year. Grammie started to get nervous about the consistency of this answer. Sometimes three year-olds forget quickly what theyve requested for Christmas. It didnt look like Sadie was likely to move on from this wish though. Grammie mentioned to Mommy that children dont always get what they want for Christmas, thinking that this might be the year Mommy would have to explain that to Sadie. But Mommy did not want Sadies first Christmas as a big sister to have any more hard adjustments. So Mommy put in a good word with Santa, and to everyones surprise (except Sadies!), Monster came to live with Sadie on Christmas day 2010. The other gifts were nice too, but there is no doubt that the kitty was the favorite thing Sadie got for Christmas.
