Journaling reads: Rachels first trip to see Grandma and Papa in Alabama was also her first time being able to spend any time with an animal of any sort, as we had not pets. She fell in love with Papas dog Prince. Although Rachel tried her best to convince Papa to allow Prince in the house, nothing worked, so she grabbed a pillow and her yellow shirt (her version of a baby blanket), and laid the on carpet near the sliding glass door in the dining room. She would spend hours and just gaze at Prince. He, of course, would sit and gaze back at her. I love that her image can be seen in the reflection of the glass, almost like she is lying right behind him.
The oddest thing about this story is that 10 years later, during another visit to Alabama, we found our dog Cricket, and we couldnt leave her behind, we flew her back with us to California, and Rachel is so thrilled that she is an inside dog, so she doesnt have to gaze at her through any window!

The Process: I loved playing with all the new releases this week. I had been looking through old photos of my dd and knew right away that everything work would together so well. I began with the background artsy paper, and placed the photo of my dd when she was 3. I then placed the photo of Rachel when she was older, clipping it to the MultiLayered FotoBlendz, playing around with the various layers, changing their color and position just a bit. I added the circle frame to that photo. I added some additional transfers from AP Story as well. The journaling came next, placing the story of my dd at 3 above the photo, and the more recent portion below the photo. I added the various elements, and the WordART. I added the WarmGlows, which I changed to the soft pink, and the date strips, which I also made soft pink. I finished up by adding two edge overlays, also changing their color to a soft pink.
