I worked through Charlene Mitchell's tutorial Customize Texture with ArtPlay Palette Brushes using the Noetic APP and following the straightforward steps. I am pleased with the result and learned some new tricks.

Now about that cow:
The cow got stuck in the ditch. Ron and his cousin Clayton successfully lifted her out and tended to her for three days in our pasture, repeatedly lifting her up and standing with her till she got tired, then letting her rest. She didn't improve much and never got up on her own but would eat and drink what they put in front of her, so they loaded her up and took her home so Clayton could watch her more closely. Sadly, she only lasted about one more day.
