Easter Egg Hunt

When Rachel was little, on Easter morning, she would first search the house to find her Easter basket, carefully hidden by the Easter bunny, then she would venture outside to find the eggs the Easter Bunny hid throughout the back yard. I always loved dressing her in a nice Easter dress, along with some sort of hat or bow, as that is what I grew up with. As she got older, she got to the point of not wanting to dress up, but she Rachel was young, I could dress her up. Oh JOY!!!

Journaling reads: It was so fun watching Rachel hunt for her Easter eggs. Ron and I helped direct her to the areas where the eggs were hidden. She was so very excited each time she found one, carefully placing it in her little Easter basket.

The Process: I began with a plain background and began adding transfers I wanted to use, along with the photograph. I placed a simple edge around the photo, using a color taken from the many transfers on the page. I layered the photograph, using different blend modes and/or opacities, until I felt all portions of the photo were optimized. I then began taking the transfers on the page, and placing them where I felt they looked the best. I then began adding cluster objects near the photo, using a brad, the stuffed bunny (so cute), and the word strips, applying shadows as I went. I place the felt heart there as well, but ended up using a blend mode to it, repeating it, and changed the opacity of each one so it seemed to fade into the background. I added the scribble, changing its color to one from the page, and place a flower and button at the end of it, and placed fotoglowz under them. To finish it off, I added the doily edge overlay, applying a blend mode to it is soften it a bit. In doing so, I found a portion of it totally disappear in the areas it fell over darker colors (left edge), so I duplicated the overlay, and changed the blend mode again so it was seen on the left edge as well. I love the bunnies from Annas Magic Bunny BrushSet, so I added one peaking from behind the framed photo, softening it by changing its color and opacity a bit.
