I like this version better. The blue in the paper strip pulls up the color of the journaling from below and adds balance to the page.

Ooohhh Colleen this is a REALLY tough decision ... both pages look great ... but having reviewed both side-by-side, I'd have to say #2 does it for me ... the papers just add a splash of colour & draw my eye into the photo!!!

Love the word art and your journaling. I have an online scrap friend, but from the us to New Zealand, where do we meet in the middle? ;)
